The origins of "La Solaia" go up to the middle age, immediately the position reveals the oddness of a village climed on the top of a panoramic hill, always sunny by the west and the east.

The peculiar position of domain of two anciente ways, such as the Vecchia Strada Aretino-Senese and the way of procures of trades, discloses its ancient function of strenghthened outpost of the Castle of La Cornia.

The second World War had devastating consequences for the village, it was quite entirely destroyed from German retaliation. The present owners in rebuilding it have brought back to the life a place with detach vocations for environ, landscape, history and architecture.
